How can we help?

Common questions

How does Paltaa work?

List something you no longer need and say what you would take for it. Paltaa lets you swap directly, put it in a timed House where members offer their own items, or links you into a chain when no direct swap exists.

Why is there no chat?

Everything needed to agree an exchange is structured: offers, evidence attached to them, live House activity, and notifications. Structured records can be reviewed by a moderator and used in a dispute; a chat log full of pressure and side deals cannot.

How do I make an offer?

Open the listing or its House, choose one of your own listings, and send the offer. You can add cash or Paltaa Coin and a note with evidence under “More options”.

Can I withdraw an offer?

Yes, while it is still submitted or shortlisted — before the owner accepts it. Any cash held for it is released at once.

Who wins a Paltaa Battle?

The owner of the item chooses. The best offer is shown, but the owner picks the offer they actually want, and everyone who offered is notified.

Why was I added to a chain?

What your listing asks for lined up with what others have and want. You are invited, not committed: the chain only locks when every member has accepted, and anyone can decline.

The item was not as described

Open a dispute from that exchange. Settlement is frozen while a moderator reviews the listing, its evidence and the handover record.

Why did money leave my balance when I made an offer?

Cash in an offer is held the moment you submit it, so an offer the bidder cannot honour never reaches an owner. The hold is released the instant your offer is declined, withdrawn, outbid to acceptance, or the exchange is cancelled.

What is Paltaa Coin?

Platform credit for features and rewards — revealing a Mystery Offer, entering a Battle, boosting a listing. It is not a currency, not an investment, has no cash value, and cannot be withdrawn or traded outside Paltaa.

How does a Paltaa Chain work?

Choose one listed product and select an eligible near-value product to propose an exchange. Both owners must offer and approve. After the first swap locks, members can continue exchanging with their newly received product during the three-day Shipment Hub relay window; every new owner must also approve.

How is my trust score calculated?

From completed and failed exchanges, delivery outcomes, whether your descriptions matched, receiver feedback, disputes and any Constitution violations. Recent behaviour counts for more than old behaviour, and serious violations fade far more slowly. You can see every event that moved your own score.

How do I hand over safely?

Home delivery is handled through our verified courier partner. The receiver enters a one-time handover code upon delivery to confirm.

Something went wrong. What now?

Open a dispute from the exchange or chain it concerns. Settlement freezes, the other member has three days to respond, and a moderator decides on the evidence, citing the Constitution article that applies. Either side may appeal once.
